Quantitative Reasoning of Goal Satisfaction in the i*Framework

چکیده
In requirement analysis, goal models play an important role in assessing alternative design options of a software system. Many qualitative and quantitative goal reasoning approaches have been proposed for goal models such as Knowledge Acquisition in Automated Space (KAOS), NonFunctional Requirements (NFR), and Goal Oriented Requirement Language (GRL). However, for i* goal model only qualitative reasoning has been proposed in Requirement Engineering literature. The aim of this paper is to present a quantitative goal reasoning for i* goal model. The proposed approach was validated with case studies from existing literature and offers a guide in the decision process. To support the validation a simulation was developed in Visual C++. Background and purpose: Nowdays in almost all organizations, resources are allocated based on traditional methods, personal experiences and mental reasoning power. This causes some dissatisfaction among people and have no generalization ability and mathematical basis. The objective of this research was to propose a fuzzy goal programming model in resource allocation at the university-educa...
متن کاملCombinin ualitative and Quantitative strai s in Temporal Reasoning*
This paper presents a general model for temporal reasoning, capable of handling both qualita tive and quantitative information. This model allows the representation and processing of all types of constraints considered in the literature so far, including metric constraints (restricting the distance between time points), and qualitative, disjunctive, constraints (specifying the relative position...
متن کاملQuantitative Assessment of Goal Models within and beyond the Requirements Engineering Tool: A Case Study in the Accessibility Domain
Goal-Orientation provides a rich framework to reason about systems at Requirements Engineering (RE) time, at least using some quantitative form of reasoning on a goal structure. This paper focuses on the assessment of the satisfaction level of requirements and related goals which has to be measured at run-time and possibly involves some multiple instantiation schemes. We propose a framework to ...
متن کاملEffects of Reasoning Ability on Field Goal Shooting Skills of Female Basketball Players
In the present study, field goal shooting skills of female basketball players were assessed in the background to their reasoning ability. The sample consists of 100 female intercollegiate basketball players (age = 21.05±1.67 yrs.). Shooting skills reasoning ability were assessed by Johnson’s “Basketball Field Goal Speed Shooting Test” and Mixed Type Group Test of Intelligence prepared by Mehr...
متن کاملTowards Reasoning with Partial Goal Satisfaction in Intelligent Agents
A model of agency that supposes goals are either achieved fully or not achieved at all can be a poor approximation of scenarios arising from the real world. In real domains of application, goals are achieved over time. At any point, a goal has reached a certain level of satisfaction, from nothing to full (completely achieved). This paper presents an abstract framework that can be taken as a bas...
